Gallery Opening Night at TCPL, Friday, February 1, 2013

Two spectacular exhibits featuring animal illustrations continue on display at Tompkins County Public Library this month.

Birds, Beasts and Books: Animal Illustrations in Literature curated by Nancy E. Green.

Birds, Beasts and Books: Animal Illustrations in Literature features works on loan from the Johnson Museum of Art collection including engravings by Barry Moser of "Alice Through the Looking Glass".

This exhibit is made possible through the generosity of the Johnson Art Museum.

Animalia in Art curated by Jenny Pope.

This exhibit features the work of six local artists – Karen Allaben-Confer, Dede Hatch, Craig Mains, Jenny Pope, Margaret Reed and Sylvia Taylor.

This exhibit is made possible with grant support from the Community Arts Partnership

We regret to have to inform you that the talk "Living with Relics of the Pleistocene: Adventures of an Artist-in-Residence for the California Condor Reintroduction Project at Vermillion Cliffs National Monument Arizona" by Karen Allaben-Confer has been cancelled due to sickness.  The talk will take place instead at Gallery Opening Night on Friday March 1.

Access to the Library after 5 PM on Gallery Night is through the BorgWarner Community Room door on the East side of the Library, behind the bus shelter on Green Street.
